TEMPE, AZ. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis Program wrap up the season with a strong finish, placing fifth in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Sagehens closed out the 2018-19 season in the NCAA Regionals and compiled a 16-6 record overall. The team went 6-1 in SCIAC play and finished runner-up in the SCIAC Tournament.
The Sagehens also saw Caroline Casper and Maria Lyven earn All-American honors. Casper finished her career with four straight NCAA Quarterfinal trips, a 22-10 record in her final season, and was No. 9 in the nation in singles. The now-graduated senior also won First Team All-SCIAC and was SCIAC Player of the Year. Lyven capped off an impressive rookie season with a Sweet 16 Finish in the NCAA and was 17-6 overall. She won First Team All-SCIAC and was SCIAC Newcomer of the Year.
