Women's Track & Field: Sagehens Excel In Distance at PP Invite

CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Track & Field program saw several excellent marks at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational with a handful of athletes reaching the program top-10 marks on Saturday afternoon. Competing against top athletes from Division I, II, III and professional athletes, the Sagehens were able to show their ability to stand out. Prior to the meet, the Sagehens honored seniors Gianna Wu and Micaiah Palmer for their hard work and commitment to the Pomona-Pitzer Track & Field program. 

Lauren Hamilton had a personal best in the 5000 Meter Run, clocking at 17:21.00 to place second overall and first among collegiate runners. Her time is now the fifth-best in program history. Lila Cardillo also improved her personal best in the same event, finishing fifth overall at 17:43.83. Her time was also the sixth-best in program history.

In the 1500 Meter Run, Genevieve DiBari finished 17th overall at 4:49.82 and Rosie Linkus took 20th in the 800m at 2:18.52.

Over at the short distance, Quin Fraley finished 14th in the 400m Dash at 58.68 seconds. Vicky-Marie Addo-Ashong was the best Division III finisher in the 100m Hurdles with a 12th place finish at 15.07. Sophie Richards took 23rd at 15.59 seconds.

Up Next: The Sagehens will compete again in multi-dual against Chapman University, Occidental College, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and Cal Lutheran on Saturday, April 13 at Eagle Rock, CA at 10:00 a.m.
