CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Track & Field Team had several big performances from their athletes at the first day of the SCIAC Championship hosted at Fritz Burns Stadium at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday afternoon. After the results of the final round of the field events and two distance races, the Sagehens placed in sixth with 15 points. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sit in first with 72 meet points while Occidental is in second at 36.
In the preliminary events, Quin Fraley took first overall in the 400 Meter Dash at 58.25. Later in the 800 Meter Run, Rosie Linkus qualified for the final with a third-place finish at 2:22.50. Genevieve DiBari qualified for the 1500 Meter Run final after placing seventh at 4:57.08. Vicky-Marie Addo-Ashong placed fifth in the 100 Meter Hurdles prelim with a time of 14.89 seconds to reach the final while Lia Francis placed eighth in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 67.65 seconds to qualify for the final race.
