Pomona-Pitzer T&F Invite Meet Info

ENTRY INFORMATION

Restrictions: This invitational is for invited 4-year Colleges and Universities. No High School athletes may enter; No 2-year Colleges may enter.

Collegiate Teams: Entries must be completed online at Direct Athletics by Wednesday, April 3 at 1:00pm.

Clubs/Individuals: Entries must be completed online at Direct Athletics by Wednesday, April 3 at 1:00pm. All club and unattached individuals must register and pay in advance on Direct Athletics.

Entry Marks: We hope to make each heat and flight as fair and competitive as possible. Not only is this better for the athlete but also for spectators.

Late Entries: Late Entries WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

Accepted Entries:  Posted on this site by noon Thursday of the meet. Please confirm your entries.

Entry Fees: 
• Club/Individual/Unattached Athletes--$15 per event and $15 per relay. Fees must be paid online when entering on Direct Athletics. NO REFUNDS after entry deadline.
• Collegiate Teams: $15 per event and $15 per relay. Fees may be paid during team check-in on meet day. NO REFUNDS after entry deadline.

MEET DAY CHECK-IN & CLERKING

Check-In: 
Track Events: Athletes must declare at the clerk’s table (located on the homestretch near the finish line) no later than 30 minutes prior to their event. At this time, athletes are to get their heat/lane assignment and appropriate hip number. Failure to check in on time will result in an athlete being scratched, and their lane will be assigned to another runner.
• Field Events: Report directly to the event official no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of the event. Athletes that fail to report by the 20 minute deadline will be scratched.

 

FIELD EVENT INFORMATION

Attempts/Flights:

Flights will be ordered best to worst. Each competitor will receive up to 4 attempts—NO FINALS.

 
 

Measurements:

All fair attempts will be measured

Opening Heights:

Opening heights will be determined on meet day. High Jump progression – 5cm; Pole Vault progression – 15cm.

 
 

Warm-Up:

Field event athletes will be allowed 10 minutes to warm-up between each flight.
 
 

Weigh-Ins:

8:00am-11:45am. All weigh-ins will take place in the track equipment shed. Throws may compete only with certified implements.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

 
Directions:
• From I-10 FWY: Take Indian Hill exit north 1 mile to First Street. Turn right, and go ¼ mile until Mills Avenue. Turn left on Mills.
• From I-210 FWY: Take Towne Avenue exit south for 1 mile to Foothill Blvd. Turn left, and go 1 mile east College Avenue, three blocks east/past the Indian Hill stoplight. Turn right on College and go downhill/south to Sixth Street. Turn left on Sixth and proceed 1/4 mile to Mills Avenue. Turn right on Mills Ave.
 
 

Parking:

Vans and Team Buses must park on or near Mills Ave. This is a residential area—please ask your bus driver not to idle the bus engine during the meet. A two-story parking structure is located within walking distance to the track. The structure, located at 295 E. First Street is FREE.

 
 

Team Areas:

Teams may set up on any of the grass areas surrounding the track.

Warm-Up Area:

Warm-ups areas include: The football field NW of the track, plus the dirt trails around the Organic Farm. DO NOT enter throwing sectors.

 
 

Awards:

The top finisher of each track heat and each field event flight will be awarded a t-Shirt. Heat/Flight winners should pick up their t-shirt after the results are announced over the PA system. Be ready to show ID and sign for your shirt.

   

Rules:

The Pomona-Pitzer Invite operates under NCAA rules. A wind gauge will be used for the sprints as well as the long and triple jump. All fair attempts in the jumps/throws will be measured, and no false starts are allowed. Team scores for NCAA D-I teams will be provided post-meet.

 
 

Concessions:

Food, drink and snacks will be available throughout the meet. The concession stand is located at the tan track shed (west side of track).

 
 

Medical Staff:

Certified Athletic Trainers will be located on the west end of the track—near the shed. Paramedics will be at the meet for emergency transport.

 
 

Locker Room:

Locker rooms and showers are not available.

Results:

Results will be posted on the results board throughout the meet. Final results will be online.
