ELSAH, IL -- Pomona-Pitzer Women's Cross Country runners Lauren Hamilton and Helen Guo had impressive ends to their seasons at the NCAA National Championships hosted by Principia College on Saturday morning.

Hamilton led the way for the Sagehens as she grabbed All-American honors for the first time in her young career as she took 13th place overall with a time of 21:05.30. Hamilton becomes just the fifth woman in program history to earn All-American honors and the first since Maya Weigel earned All-American honors from 2014-2016.

Guo also finished off her sophomore season on a successful note as she took 79th overall with a time of 22:05.40.

"Although race conditions were extremely challenging, Lauren and Helen ran with poise and guts", said Head Coach Emma DeLira. "They both got off on a fast pace and positioned themselves for a good finish. Lauren's initial goal was to finish inside the top-40 but knew at the mile mark she could take a chance and do better. Helen, who raced In her first nationals meet today, finished in 79th. Today's result made her hungry for next season and what she can achieve for future races. They both enjoyed every moment of today."
