OSHKOSH, WI. – After battling the slippery grounds of Lake Breeze Golf Club on Saturday morning, the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Cross Country Team took ninth overall at the Pre-Nationals after scoring 285 points.
"We ran very well. We are spoiled in California with good weather and good course conditions, so to see something different is a good challenge," said Head Coach Kirk Reynolds. "We handled it well. I was pleased with the races from our top three. They can run with anyone in the country."
Helen Guo impressed on the 6K course, taking third overall after clocking in at 21:36.4. First year Lila Cardillo took 17th overall at 22:29.0 while Lauren Hamilton followed in 26th at 22:42.1 Genevieve DiBari crossed in 115th, clocking in at 23:56.7. In 124th, first year Rosie Linkus timed at 24:02.6 and Ariel Kivela took 163rd at 24:25.1.
Up Next: The Sagehens will race again in the postseason on Saturday, October 27 when they compete at the SCIAC Championship at Prado Park in Chino, California.
